The Hill of Crosses: fragments of wooden and forged crosses, symbolising Lithuanian cross-crafting and folk culture. Cross-crafting and cross-symbolism in Lithuania are included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Inscriptions LITHUANIA and THE HILL OF CROSSES, the year of issue and the mintmark of the Lithuanian Mint. The coin’s outer ring bears the 12 stars of the European Union flag.
